Dani Lorenzo: “I’m really eager to keep fulfilling my dreams”

The Málaga player, who has renewed his contract until 2028 with an option for an additional year, shared his thoughts with MCFTV. “I feel proud to be an important part of the club that has given me everything,” he said.

Continuity

“For me, it’s a dream come true. Since I arrived, in the first stage when I was younger, and in this second stage, I’ve been achieving goals both personally and as a team. It’s a dream and a source of pride to be doing what I’m doing at my club, in my hometown, and I’m very eager for more and to keep fulfilling my dreams.”

Maturity

“I feel good and ready. I’ve experienced a lot over these years, many emotions, that have made me a more mature player and person. I want that to show on the pitch in order to achieve our goals, and I feel proud to be here, trying to be an important part of the club that has given me everything.”

Project

“The project we have, which Loren has put together, the group we have, my home… these are things that, as a player, I weigh up, and the answer is yes. My dream is always to take Málaga CF to the First Division, and I want to try until the very end.”

Special moments

“The promotion was a wonderful moment that all Malaguistas remember, a turning point in the club’s history. Now, on a personal level, I’m experiencing a very special moment. There’s a lot of hard work behind it, and over time you start seeing the results.”

Close to reaching 100 appearances

“I’m getting closer and closer, and I’m really eager to reach that milestone, who would have said that a few months or years ago?”

Enjoying each day

“A very beautiful atmosphere has been created in the dressing room, with the people around us. We’re really enjoying day-to-day life, and the coach reminds us of that, we have it firmly in mind. As long as we can, we’re going to enjoy every match and try to win it, and see how far we’re able to go.”

Individual room for improvement

“This year I’ve taken a pretty big step forward. ‘Pelli’ insisted a lot on the defence, I used to characterise myself as a ball-playing player, and he made me see that football is about much more than that. I’ve been internalising it, and I feel more comfortable in different aspects of the game; I feel more mature, more complete, and I still believe I have room for improvement in many areas, which I will try to make the most of.”

Message to the fans

“A dream? To take Málaga CF up to the First Division. The fans? Thank you for all the support you give me. Since I arrived, you have welcomed me so wonderfully. I only have kind words, and we hope to achieve many things together. This is just the beginning of something very beautiful.”
