Ideye and the multi-lingual goal

Brown Ideye made his scoring debut in LaLiga against Valencia CF at La Rosaleda. Counting his beginnings in Nigeria, he has scored in eight leagues in eight different countries. A goal-scoring globetrotter.

At 29 years of age, Ideye’s scoring sheet has an outstanding curriculum, both in the quality and quantity of goals. Between 2005 and 2007, he began his idyll with the goal in the Nigerian Premier League, with Bayelsa United and Ocean Boys.

His leap to Europe came in the 2007/08 campaign, landing in Switzerland’s Super League, and scoring his first goal for Neuchatel Xamax on 10th May 2008. His Swiss journey ended midway through the 2009/10 season, during which he scored 16 goals in 20 games (12 in the League and 4 Cup matches), which caught the attention of the Ligue 1 in France. With Sochaux, after adapting for half a year, he netted 15 goals in domestic competition in 2010/11.

Between 2011 and 2014, Ideye’s productivity was comfortable with historic side, Dynamo Kyiv. Scoring 34 goals within three League campaigns, consecrated the player in Ukraine’s Premier League. In 2014/15 he moved to England, signing to West Bromwich Albion. His debut Premier League goal took place on Boxing Day, 26th December 2014, against the powerful Manchester City. The Greek Super League was the striker’s next destination, averaging 0’5 goals per match with Olympiakos over two seasons. His remarkable League stats: 23 goals in 44 games.

The penultimate stop in the career of the Blue and White number ‘12’ was on the Asian continent. After scoring in Africa and Europe, Brown Ideye also scored in the Chinese Super League within the ranks of Tianjin Teda (2017). Following his arrival in the last winter transfer window, he needed three matches and 207 minutes of play to make his scoring debut in LaLiga Santander, in minute 27 of #MálagaValenciaLet it be the first goal of many!
