Guede: “I’m proud of the players”

The Málaga CF coach held a press conference following #MálagaEibar. “There was a moment when La Rosaleda exploded, as the players are conveying something to the fans. This is Málaga,” he said.

“We started off well, how we wanted to, both attacking and defending. Yet in five minutes all the planning went out the window with the expulsion. We did a good job, we continue to improve, bit by bit. The players should be congratulated for maintaining that level of intensity. It’s not easy to play against the leader for 70 minutes with 10 men,” said Guede.

Despite the 1-3 result, the Argentinean coach focused on the positives of the match. “There was a moment when La Rosaleda exploded, as the players are conveying something to the fans. This is Málaga. The fans responded in such an amazing way as the team reacted in such an amazing way against the leader. This is why I’m proud of the players.”

In regard to the referee’s performance: “I’m not talking about the referees, you’ll never hear me talk about them. It’s very difficult being a referee, I understand that, they can make mistakes, I don’t know if they did. If we were down to 10 men we have to see why and try and correct that mistake, so it doesn’t happen again,” he stated.

Pablo Guede added that “we all always want to win, but we can take away a lot of positives from #MálagaEibar. Brandon scored a great goal, but the play was what we’ve been working on, which fills me with pride. He defined very well, but the work of his teammates so that he got to that position is what makes me the happiest,” he commented.

“From here on in it’s all about Las Palmas. We need to move on as it isn’t going to be easy. We’ll rest tomorrow and plan the Las Palmas game, which will be different than today. They are one of the teams with the best attack in the rival goal,” concluded the coach.
