Duje Čop: “I can’t wait to score a goal at La Rosaleda”

Malaguista striker, Duje Čop speaks to MCFTV following the draw at Anoeta: “I did my job and I was able to score,” says the Croatian forward.

Second goal in LaLiga

“I’m very pleased with my goal, but I would’ve been happier if we had claimed the three points as we deserved them and were the superior team throughout.  In the final minutes we conceded an offside goal, but we must continue to move forward and focus on the next match.  I wasn’t obsessed with goals, I did my job throughout the game and I was able to score.”

Teammates and Gracia

“It’s good for me as I know they support me in everything.  I was thrilled and went running to the bench to celebrate, as they all know how hard I work to improve.  The coach is happy for me as he knows I work hard, I do a lot of things well and needed to score.  I did that at the weekend, but I’m disappointed we didn’t win.”

Scoring at home and facing Valencia

“I can’t wait to score a goal at La Rosaleda in front of our fans, and I hope it happens as soon as possible.  Valencia are a great club with big names, but we’ve shown this season that we can compete with the best teams in the world.  We’re not scared in front of our fans and we can defeat any rival.”

Week of three matches

“If we get the opportunity to rise up the table we’ll try our best, but we need to focus on each match at a time.  There’s still a long way to go until the end of the season.”

Eurocopa

“I’m part of a great team in the best League in the world, and I hope to form part of my national squad in the Eurocopa.  The coach knows me, he knows my qualities and I’m pretty sure I’ll be part of Croatia’s squad.”
