Cifu is back

The fully recovered right-back re-joined training today with his teammates. “I’m delighted to be back and able to enjoy my first group training session. We were all looking forward to it”, he told MCFTV.

The pace of training is gradually increasing, little by little, as the days go by. Not only in terms of exercise, which moved to group training with the arrival of phase 3, but also with the incorporation of all members of the Blue and White squad.

Right-back Cifu was one of this morning’s protagonists. The results from the tests and PCR checks undertaken by the Málaga CF squad came back negative for all players and staff who carried out the tests. However, the Club doctors saw fit for Cifu to carry out specific training at home in order to complete a series of tests relating to his defences. The player is now back at 100 per cent and today returned to training.

Statements to MCFTV

Daniel Rosado, Málaga CF first team doctor

“All the tests and PCR tests were negative, but the serological tests needed to be interpreted by us and the medical services thought Cifu should remain at home to complete a study, a series of tests, giving us all peace of mind. He stayed at home undergoing specific training, but carrying out the complementary tests took some time”.

Happy

I’m delighted to be back and able to enjoy my first group training session. It’s always special, particularly after all this time. We were all looking forward to it”.

Cautious

“Of course, we have to be extremely careful now in this situation because of the risk of a relapse, so we want to ensure we stay safe. Although all the tests went well and came out negative, the doctor saw something in my defences that wasn’t quite right and he decided I should stay at home for a week, not put myself at risk and be able to return to the group at 100 per cent”.
