Calero progressing well

The Blue and White defender is recovering at a good pace from the serious injury to the cruciate ligament in his left knee sustained in 2020.

Slowly but surely, Iván Calero is advancing well with his recovery that will allow him to return to the pitch as soon as possible. He underwent surgery in Madrid in January on one of the hardest injuries for an elite footballer. “Following several months of recovery, lots of work with the physios and in the gym, getting back on the pitch is an important step in my knee’s recovery. Above all, due to the good feelings I’m getting”, said the Madrid-born player.

The right-back is pleased with his development. “We’re re-educating my body, after several months being out of action, learning to run, stop, change direction, turn…These are very common movements in the world of football, and little by little we’re building an effective return to competition. I’m delighted with how my knee is feeling now”, he said.

Without a federative registration for the remainder of the season, and with a contract until 2023, Iván hopes to be ready for the next pre-season to kick off 21/22 in good physical condition. Siempre fuerte, Calero!
