Burgos: “We need to make the most of this point at home”

The Blue and White defender spoke to the Club media following the draw with Real Racing Club de Santander: “It’s positive that we earned a point and kept a clean sheet,” he commented.

Esteban Burgos returned to the Malaguista starting line-up 40 days after sustaining injury to his left quadriceps. The central defender played 90 minutes and helped to keep a clean sheet along with his teammates. Here’s what he thinks about the 0-0 draw with Real Racing Club: “It was a Second Division away game. Very tough, complicated, the pressure was on... the rival can overwhelm if you go wrong on the minor details. You can have a hard time, you’ll struggle, yet there are times when you’re going to play well, a normal game. It’s positive that we earned a point and kept a clean sheet. We’re in a situation in which it seems that everything is urgent, we understand the fans’ discontent, we feel the same. It was important to score a point today, so we need to make the most of it at home,” he said.

Following his recovery quarantine, he’s feeling good: “I felt good. I didn't know if I would be there for 90', but I held on well. I barely had three training sessions during the week, but if the coach needed me, I would play. I’m happy I played, I feel great and it’s good to be back with the team and be able to help in any way I can,” he continued.

Lastly, he stressed that the team must make the most of this point next Sunday at home against FC Andorra: “Playing in front of our fans is the most beautiful thing. We’ve got a great match coming up on Sunday, we’re already thinking about it. We scored a point away from home and we have to make La Rosaleda like a fortress. Hopefully we’ll return to winning ways as soon as possible, as the feelings are good,” he concluded.
