Benítez: “We have to be at a thousand percent for the first team”

The Atlético Malagueño captain and scorer of the goal against CD Huétor Tájar held a press conference in the Muñoz Pérez press room in Estepona.

“It’s tough working so hard and not getting the results you want. But there’s still a long way to go and we need to keep working hard for the rest of the season,” said Ale Benítez, who thanked the fans for supporting the team: “The fans were amazing. It’s always an honour to go to a ground and see the supporters there cheering us on. We thank them for everything they’ve done.”

The player from Mijas is focused on the remainder of the season: “We need to keep working hard, there are three very tough weeks left and we have to be at a thousand percent for the first team,” he added.

In regard to his goal that took the match level at 1-1, he said: “I would have preferred the team to win and not score, but that’s what it’s all about. That’s football. Now we carry on,” he stated.
