Arrabal and Carmen continue with the squad

Goalkeeper María Arrabal and striker Carmen Gómez will remain with our women’s team for the 22/23 season.

María Arrabal Martín (Algarrobo, Málaga, 2000) continues at the club where she trained within the youth ranks and joined the first team in the 21/22 season.

Her stats from the previous year, during which she was a regular fixture in the Blue and White goal, include 19 matches (16 goals conceded) in Group 4 of Primera Nacional, and three matches (two goals conceded) in the Copa de la Reina. In this competition she was the star of the show with her saves in the penalty shootout that gave Málaga a pass to the next round, at La Rosaleda, against Zaragoza CFF.

Carmen Gómez Márquez (Ojén, Málaga, 1998) also remains on the team, where she belonged within the youth ranks between 2012 and 2018, returning to the club last summer.

This striker was the second-best scorer in the 21/22 season, behind Sonia Torralvo, with 14 League goals in 23 matches. Her resourcefulness, aerial game and her definition in the rival area gave the Blue and Whites a great deal of points.

María and Carmen, key players in Málaga CF’s league championship win in the bronze division, consolidate the club's commitment on a new journey in the revamped Segunda RFEF competition.

We’re delighted you’re staying with us!
