Good sensations in the victory against Vélez CF

Málaga CF defeated Vélez CF in this morning’s match at the Federación. Febas, Ruben Castro, Fran Sol, Luis Muñoz, Álex Gallar and Escassi scored the goals. This afternoon the Malaguistas will head to Estepona.

Málaga CF and Vélez CF took part in a training match this Wednesday morning at the Federación Malagueña de Fútbol ground. For the Blue and Whites, the match that kicked-off at 09:30 served to continue accumulating minutes and positive sensations just before the start of the concentration in Estepona.

Pablo Guede and his coaching team selected two different line-ups: The first was made up of: Yáñez; Juanfran, Ramalho, Burgos, Andrés Caro, Javi Jiménez; Dani Lorenzo, Jozabed, Febas; Rubén Castro and Fran Sol.

In addition, Vélez made several variations in the second half and after the hour mark. The outfit from Axarquía started out with: Diego Barrios; Essel, Bocchino, Álex Portillo, Ocaña; Jorge Barba, Quique, Gonzalo; Gaona, Joselinho and Luismi. On the subs’ bench were: Mío, Espinosa, Adolfo, David, Iván Aponte, Mauro, Yael, Kaya, Francia Moreno, Lovemore, Gastón, Balta, David Pastor, Daniel and Miguel.

Málaga CF dominated possession from the outset and piled on intense pressure. As a result, Febas opened the scoring in minute 13 with a well-placed shot (1-0).

Around half an hour into play, Febas enabled Rubén Castro with a great pass. The striker from the Canaries crossed the ball with his left leg to score the second goal for the Blue and Whites (2-0). Shortly afterwards, following a corner, Fran Sol increased MCF’s lead with great definition (3-0).

The Malaguistas continued to dominate play, but the result stayed the same until half-time. In the second half, Málaga’s line-up consisted of: Manolo Reina; Issa Fomba, Escassi, Juande, Moussa, Víctor Olmo; Genaro, Luis Muñoz, Álex Rico; Álex Gallar and Loren.

The same dynamic continued, with Pablo Guede’s men showing control and intensity as they continue to assimilate the concepts that the Argentinean coach conveys to them each day.

Around minute 55, Gallar made a diagonal shot from the left, dribbling past defenders until he enabled Luis Muñoz, who made a top quality finish (4-0). Just five minutes later, Gallar made the most of a pass from Víctor Olmo to the centre of the area to score another (5-0).

With quarter of an hour remaining until full-time, Escassi scored the sixth goal with a direct free kick from the edge of the area that the goalkeeper was unable to deflect (6-0). Both teams maintained the intensity until the end, although the result stayed the same.

The team did a great job of ending this stage of the summer pre-season training. As from tomorrow until 30th July, the Malaguista preparations will continue at Hotel Meliá Atalaya Estepona and their sports facilities. This evening, around 19:30, the Malaguistas will set off for their concentration.

Unai Bustinza and Adrián underwent specific training today and continued with the recovery from their respective injuries. Kevin and Larrubia were absent from the session due to a viral infection and Roberto was absent with the Club’s permission.

The team will return to training tomorrow with a double session in Atalaya (Estepona).
