Captaincy and defensive talent with Ruth and Olmedo
Ruth Acedo and Luisa Olmedo will remain with Málaga CF Femenino for another season. The captain and versatile defender, both who trained in the youth ranks, are staying at the Club.
Following the official announcement of Sonia Torralvo, Carmen Gómez and María Arrabal’s continuity, another two players have renewed their commitment to our project until the end of the 22/23 season.
Ruth Acedo Pino (Málaga, 2000) is, despite being just 21, one of the most ‘veteran’ players on the squad and highly respected on the pitch and in the dressing room. She has worn the captain’s armband for several seasons, conveying her fighting spirit to her teammates.
She was part of the MCF Femenino team that achieved the last promotion to the elite in the 17/18 season, played in Liga Iberdrola the following season and was key to the 21/22 championship win in Primera Nacional Group 4. Last season she played 21 League games and three in the Copa de la Reina, accumulating 2,000 minutes.
Luisa Olmedo Jiménez (Málaga, 2001) like Ruth, has accumulated several seasons with the Blue and White first team. She debuted with MCFF at 16 years of age, and it was in the 19/20 season when she consolidated herself within the team in the national silver division.
After overcoming a serious injury that barely allowed her to play two games in Reto Iberdrola 20/21, the young defender, with the ability to play on the right wing, regained the pace of the competition in 21/22, playing 16 league games and two in the Copa de la Reina.
Ruth and Olmedo, maximum commitment and fervent Malaguismo for the team ahead of a new stage in Segunda RFEF. Go girls!
