Antoñín: “Manolo and the coach give me confidence”

The Blue and White forward is enthusiastic about his return to his hometown team: “I came here to have a good season”.

Antonio Cortés Heredia, known as Antoñín, was presented as a Malaguista player together with his teammates Víctor Gómez and Sekou Gassama at La Rosaleda. A scenario the attacker was looking forward to after leaving his club on loan: “I belong to Granada, but I came here to have a good season. Manolo and the coach give me confidence, I know the club too, and I’m really happy to be able to come home,” he said.

When asked again about his willingness to return to Malaga, Antoñín said: “My return was clear from the outset. If I left Granada I wanted to play at home. I’m very happy and want to do my best”.

The pacey forward has some good friends in the dressing room, such as Luis Muñoz and Kevin, with whom he has shared many experiences: “They are friends, brothers, I grew up with them. It’s an honour, we left La Palmilla neighbourhood. I’m thrilled, hopefully we’ll continue along the same path”, he explained.

In regard to his first impressions on his return, Antoñín commented: “It’s still Málaga, people come and go but the Club remains the same”. He also talked about what the coach said to him: “He asked for hard work, sacrifice, and to put the collective above all else,” he said, bringing an end to his press conference.
