Welcome to your home, Pellicer

The former Málaga CF player, who was champion of Spain with the División de Honor in 15/16, returns to Martiricos to take charge of Atlético Malagueño.

Sergio Pellicer (Nules, Castellón, 9th September 1973) is the new coach of Atlético Malagueño. Pellicer, who headed up the last División de Honor MCF team that won the Copa de Campeones, returns to the Martiricos entity following a spell with Deportivo Fabril. Alongside him, as his second in command, will be Manolo Sánchez, who also accompanied Sergio during his time with DH, and who last season coached UD San Pedro.

The man from Castellón was the architect, in 2015/16 of the last Copa de Campeones won by the Club. That same year, he also won the prestigious MIC tournament, the finishing touch to a spectacular season. Amongst the players Pellicer managed at that time were Ontiveros, En-Nesyri, Luis Muñoz and Samu Casado.

His success with the Juvenil DH led to him becoming the second coach to the Blue and White first team when Marcelo Romero substituted Juande at the helm. With the arrival of Míchel, ‘Pelli’ remained on the coaching team until the end of the 2017/18 season. During the 18/19 campaign, the new Atlético Malagueño coach took charge of the Deportivo de la Coruña reserve team.

It should be remembered that Pellicer was an MCF player between 1995 and 1997 and since then has always been very closely linked to the Blue and White colours.
