Víctor: “If we want to achieve the goal we have to give more”

The Malaguista full-back appeared before the media in the Nuevo Arcángel mixed zone: “I'm leaving here very upset,” he said.

Tough defeat

“For us it was a game that should have been more than three points, to give the fans that excitement as it was a match very similar to a playoff. However, it doesn’t determine our future. We have to learn that the smallest details - like a set piece - decide a game. The mentality of this team is strong and I know that from tomorrow we will be thinking about turning it around next weekend.”

Lack of fluidity

“The atmosphere that Córdoba created today helped them come out on top and they pressed very hard from the outset. We weren’t as comfortable as we usually are getting the ball and they took advantage of it. We have had better games in terms of fluidity of getting the ball and creating more chances.”

A superior rival

“They pressed well, they had some clear opportunities, and we weren’t able to bottle them as we wanted. With the goal they were more comfortable, but if we want to achieve the goal we have to take a step forward and give more.”

The team will react

“I hope that it happens to all my teammates like me. It stings their pride to lose here and have all the fans leave upset. I'm leaving here very upset. I hope that tomorrow all my teammates are thinking about giving joy to the fans next week. We deserve it, we have had a great season and we have to finish it by achieving our final objective.”

Fans’ anger is logical

“I understand everyone. People travel and make a great effort to come and see us. It wasn’t our best game, we have to be self-critical and take a step forward because the moment of truth is approaching. I will give my all for this squad, all my teammates are very united. I hope that the fans believe in us and give us that confidence we need to achieve the goal as we are going to give everything.”
