The Academy
This is our… 2nd Andaluza Infantil

The youngest of the 11-a-side teams in the MCF Academy, leading the table in their home competition, is disputing first place this weekend with their main follower. In addition, they are competing in the ‘Mundialito’ tournament in Spring.

The first year ‘infantil’ Blue and Whites’ team competes in the only group in the 2nd Andaluza category in Málaga. The Academy side leads the table with 53 points (17 victories, two draws and two defeats; 87 goals scored and 22 conceded), followed closely by Antequera CF (52 points), whom they are facing over the weekend. “We kicked off the League with 13 consecutive wins, and to date, are still in the top spot, which isn’t an easy feat”, explains the first coach of the team, Adrián Rojas.

The players on this team are from the 2004 generation, and train under the orders of Rojas and Álex Rando. They play locally at ‘La Virreina’ municipal football ground, and debuted this season in the 11-a-side format, with the majority coming from 2nd And. Alevín (7-a-side) from the previous year (https://www.malagacf.com/en/news/childs-play-segunda-andaluza-alevin). “The Club’s Methodology Department advised us very well. We trained hard and often, and little by little, have been acquiring the habits of 11-a-side football. Thanks to the work undertaken by the directors and coordinators, the team has been strengthened well”, comments the coach.

Over Easter, the Malaguistas will be taking part in the ‘Mundialito’ tournament, held in Tarragona. Like the Prebenjamín, (https://www.malagacf.com/en/news/this-is-ourprebenjamin), they will represent the Club in the prestigious tournament, along with 300 teams from all over the world. A title already won by the Blue and Whites, as the Alévin were proclaimed champions (https://www.malagacf.com/en/news/la-academia-results-121) in the last competition. “We’re very much looking forward to this competition, it’s a unique experience. These types of tournaments make us compete to the limit of our possibilities, and help us to greatly improve”, explains Adrián Rojas to the Club media.
