The wait is nearly over. Following the postponement in February due to the impossibility of holding events at this time, the big day is just around the corner. The IV #SiempreFuerte Awards gala, organised by the Málaga CF Foundation, will be held on Thursday 25th March at 13:00 at the Auditorio del Museo Picasso Málaga.
As on previous occasions, the event will be hosted by the duo made up of Sebastián Fernández Reyes ‘Basti’ from the MCF Foundation’s Social Department, and the journalist, Cristina Zumaquero. The passionate actress of verse, director of cultural projects and writer, Cristina Morales, La nieta del dulcero, will be performing at the gala.
During the ceremony, there will be five awards within three categories. The 2020 Social Entity Awards, which recognise associations that have stood out for their support and contribution to society, namely Asociación Benéfica Patronato Santo Domingo, AFENES and Hermanitas de los Pobres. Pepa Moreno, president of Club Balonmano Femenino Costa del Sol will receive the Abdallah Ben Barek Award, valuing hard work, equality, solidarity, fair play and respect in sport. Lastly, Antonio Banderas, universal Malagueño and symbol of our city will receive the #SiempreFuerte Special Award, for his social work and for being such a benchmark in society, particularly amongst young people.
The winner of the Abdallah Ben Barek Award, Pepa Moreno is a name that has always been associated with handball in Málaga. An entire career linked to Málaga Costa del Sol, first as a player where she captained her team, going on to assume the presidency of the Club in 2016 and taking it to record highs. 2020 was an unforgettable year, kicking off with Copa de la Reina victory in September and going on to claim the Spanish Supercup title in November. Achievements reached with the strength of her inseparable Diego Carrasco from above.
Antonio Banderas, as well as his outstanding professional career that has crossed all borders as an actor, director, producer…his personal touch comes to the fore. A symbol of solidarity helping those most in need via the Fundación Lágrimas y Favores, the Starlite Gala, the Fundación CORINTO and the Fundación Cudeca. He always supports local businesses and art within our city, and is committed to the pioneering project being undertaken by Teatro Soho Caixabank, which this month was the venue for the Goya Awards gala. Hard work that makes him worthy of the #SiempreFuerte Special Award.
The date is now officially marked in the MCF Foundation’s calendar of events. Between now and Thursday we’ll find out more about the IV edition of the #SiempreFuerte Awards.
