The ‘Cazorlazos’ at the Bernabéu

Málaga CF is heading to the Santiago Bernabéu stadium on Saturday to face Real Madrid. The team will be seeking to make history with a positive result in Chamartín.

The Blue and Whites are hoping for their first League win at the Madrid ground. There are three positive precedents in which MCF secured three draws. They are:

2015/16 season (0-0)

LaLiga matchday 6. It was a very serious match for Javi Gracia’s team, who knew how to endure the Whites’ attempts, particularly in the final stretch of play, when Málaga were a man down following the expulsion of Amrabat in minute 77. Kameni put on a standout performance with several impressive saves.

2011/12 season (1-1)

LaLiga matchday 28. Pellegrini’s Málaga claimed a valuable point against Mourinho’s Madrid, who took the lead in 35’ of the first half thanks to Benzema. Just before the final whistle, in minute 92, a beautiful free kick from Santi Cazorla slipped into the back of Casillas’ goal, remaining forever in the memory of Malagusimo.

2001/02 season (1-1)

LaLiga matchday 2. A golden point earned at the beginning of the season, during the golden age of Joaquín Peiró’s team. Roberto Carlos put Vicente del Bosque’s side ahead in 14’, and it was a former Madrid player, Fernando Sanz, who equalised following a corner, to achieve the first positive result at this ground for MCF.
