Málaga CF Femenino were defeated by CD Guiniguada Apolinario away from home on matchday 14 of Group 2 in the Segunda Federación. A goal by Gara secured the victory for the islanders.
A calm Sunday morning in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with a pleasant atmosphere at the Parque Atlántico ground. Héctor Díaz, the Blue and White coach, fielded a line-up consisting of María Arrabal, Encarni (captain), Mérida, Águeda, Farfán, Noe, Yessenia, Salvador, Arantxa, Andrea Herrero, and Alicia.
The home team came out determined, seeking a goal that, after a couple of early chances from Blanco and Domínguez, they found shortly after the half-hour mark. Gara put Guiniguada ahead with a powerful shot from outside the box (1-0, 34’).
In the second half, the game became scrappy, with constant time-wasting that prevented Málaga CF Femenino from playing a fluid, combination-style game to create chances for an equaliser. Guiniguada relied on “the other side of football,” excelling particularly in aerial duels, loose balls, and second plays.
Málaga CF lost 1-0 and returned empty-handed from another trip to the Canary Islands this season. The Malaguistas remain in 6th place in the standings with 22 points.
In the upcoming matchday, at the Ciudad Deportiva Fundación MCF, Málaga CF Femenino will close out the first half of the season by hosting Valencia Féminas CF ‘B’.
