A Herrero: “We played very well against a team like Almería”

The Malaguista goalkeeper held a press conference after the draw against UD Almería at La Rosaleda. “It couldn’t happen today, but we leave with our heads held high,” he said.

The team wanted the win

“We wanted to win. We were coming off two losses, and today’s match was perfect for getting the victory. We leave very frustrated, sometimes it goes our way, and other times it goes the opponent’s. We need to analyse what we did well and what we did poorly. The message is one of encouragement, unity, and that Málaga will keep fighting.”

A very tough rival

“Almería, with all their attacking power, create a lot of chances, but I’m proud that we played very well against them. We stayed calm and found the right approach, even against a team with players of such high quality. We’re happy with the effort but upset about the ending.”

Heads held high

“We wanted to make a statement today after losing two matches. The feelings were good, but we wanted to back them up with the result. It couldn’t happen today, against a great team, but we leave with our heads held high. This continues, we’re doing well.”

Best player of November

“It’s wonderful. I'm more about the team than individual achievements. To have the work valued, with the award, and to see people happy is a very special moment. I would have liked to accompany it with a win. We’re leaving frustrated, but we’re going to make ourselves strong.”

Good feelings at La Rosaleda

“Just like the match against Racing, except for the one against Elche, we become strong at home in front of our fans. We also need to give that extra effort away from home, and go into the match in Burgos with the same attitude we had today. That's how the results will come, both at home and away.”
