Second win of the season in Pozoblanco (0-1)

Málaga CF Femenino defeated CD Pozoalbense away from home thanks to a goal by Silvia Merida in the 52nd minute. The first away victory and clean sheet for Juanma’s team.

Málaga CF Femenino were in action this Saturday afternoon against CD Pozoalbense, on matchday 4 of Segunda Federación Grupo Sur. Both teams were tied on three points in the standings.

The match got underway at 18:00 at the Ciudad Deportiva Eleuterio Olmo in Pozoblanco. The Blue and Whites – wearing the away strip – kicked off with María Arrabal in goal; Encarni, Yoli, Ruth, Silvia Mérida, Olmedo in a line of five defenders; María Cortés and Nazaret on the double pivot and Marilén on the right wing; Monterroso as playmaker and Sonia Torralvo upfront.

The Malaguistas dominated the first half from start to finish. Play was focused on the Córdoba half, where Juanma’s girls attempted to approach the area, but their superiority didn’t translate into clear opportunities.

In the second half, MCFF’s hard work reaped rewards. Silvia Mérida picked up a clearance from a María Cortes free kick to send the ball to the back of the net (0-1, min52).

Now in the lead, Juanma made the first change looking to attack the spaces in a scenario in which Pozoalbense had to take more risks. Carla came on in place of Yoli in 56'.

With 20 minutes remaining, Bertuchi and Félicité stepped on to the pitch to replace Marilén and Monterroso.

The third window of changes closed with Futu substituting Sonia Torralvo in 77'.

Málaga CF Femenino maintained the pace of play until the end, managing possession.

With this win in Pozoblanco, the Malaguistas claim their second victory of the season, the first away from home, and kept a clean sheet for the first time in 22/23.
