Málaga CF coach, Bernd Schuster, held a press conference at La Rosaleda following tonight’s game against Elche CF.
With regards to Elche and the constant interruptions to game play, particularly in the second half, Schuster comments: “Elche’s attitude on the pitch was perfect. I would have done the same in their situation, so there’s not much more I can say about them. Whether the referee had too much going on at certain times, as he had a difficult job tonight, I don’t know. But Elche did nothing out of the ordinary tonight in their fight to avoid relegation.”
Schuster talks about Málaga sealing First Division permanency mathematically: “I’ve seen that we’ve been looking at every possibility and how the other teams are doing who aren’t going to reach 41 points, which has made things more difficult for us. I think we need to be extremely careful from here on in as we’ve had numerous warnings, so I hope we don’t get a harsh wake-up call.”
