Samuel: “We’re professionals and want to gain as many points as possible”

Málaga Club de Fútbol’s Samuel García held a press conference at the Ciudad de Málaga athletics stadium following this morning’s training session.

Samuel talks about Málaga CF’s victory over Villarreal CF: “A lot of the pressure has been taken off us in the fight to avoid relegation, so now we’re just concentrating on gaining as many points as we can until the end of the season.  We’re going to give it our all.  For me, the match against Villarreal wasn’t my best, but it was one of the best games we’ve played as a team.  We really performed well on Monday night.  There has always been a great atmosphere in the dressing room, but it’s better than ever now.”

Samu returns to the line-up following a rib contusion, and hopes the team will continue to achieve positive results for the remainder of the season: “I’m delighted to be back in action, and although I’m still in a bit of pain, I’m really keen to get back on the pitch.  Getafe will play for their lives on Saturday, but we’ll go out there as the professionals that we are and gain as many points as possible.  Every match means the world to us, but thankfully we’re now in a more comfortable position in the League table and I hope we can play as well as we did in our last match.  The coach told us we need to continue playing excellent football like we did the other night, as we were sensational.”
