Press conference
Romero: “Everyone can contribute”

Malaguista coach, Marcelo Romero held a press conference at La Rosaleda, the day before #CeltaMálaga. “Everyone is raring to go” he affirms.

Positive week

“The sensations are always great and very positive when you end a good week with the team. Everyone is raring to go and get on the pitch. It’s time now to get the ball rolling and see if we’re able to play a good match in Vigo”.

Celta, and a strong team

“They have decisive players in the attacking zone, and in the middle they maintain a solid defensive block. This week we’ve been focusing more on our team, setting out necessary guidelines to stay alert with regard to the dynamic that Celta could offer. We’ll try our best to be a strong team on the field of play, who steals possession and tries to play; we’ve got pacey players upfront to make the most of damaging the rival where it hurts them the most”.

Line-up of 23 players

“I try to make everything as one, with both the coaching team and players going hand in hand. That way, those who have been out through injury for various months feel part of the group. I believe everyone can contribute, and now’s a good time for the boys who have arrived, as well as Charles and ‘Weli’, who have been injured, to feel part of the weekend. The experience they have can bring a great deal to the team”.

In goal

“Tomorrow we’ll announce the starting goalkeeper, for me it’s not a problem. They’ve both been working exceptionally well, and tomorrow we’ll try to make the right decision.  The one who plays will have to earn his place by proving what he can do on the pitch”.

Chory, ‘injured’ yesterday

“I think he’ll be fine, there won’t be any problems. He’s a top flight footballer, and at that age they know themselves how to gauge the training sessions, which makes it much easier for us. At any time when they feel slight discomfort or miss a session, it’s no big deal. I’m certain he’ll be fit for tomorrow”.
