Kameni reaches 100 official matches with MCF

The Malaguista goalkeeper, in Balaídos, reached one hundred official matches with Málaga CF, between the League, Cup and UEFA Champions League.

Carlos Kameni arrived at the Club from RCD Espanyol in the 2011/12 season, in which he took part in nine First Division games, coincidentally debuting on 25th March 2012 against Espanyol in Barcelona (MCF won by 1-2).  In the historic 2012/13 season, he accumulated another 10 official matches, in the League (3), Cup (6) and Champions League (1). The following season, 2013/14, he played 1 Copa del Rey game.

In the 2014/15 season, the Cameroonian number ‘1’ guarded the Blue and Whites’ goal in the 38 LaLiga matches, playing a total of 3,420 minutes. Last season, 2015/16, Kameni competed in 28 LaLiga matches (conceding 25 goals, less than one per game), and in the current season, he has played the first 13 League matches as the starting keeper, plus today’s match in Vigo, to total 100 official games wearing the Malaguista shirt.

The African goalkeeper, who ended the previous season having played 300 First Division games in Spanish football, is in his sixth season with the Blue and Whites, where he has signed until the end of 2019/20.
