Recio: “I want this dynamic to end now”

The Malaguista captain attended to the press in the Pizjuán mixed zone following the defeat against Sevilla FC: “My teammates and I will do everything we can to get the team to where it deserves”.

Conceding a goal at the best time

“I think we had a good approach to this game at a difficult ground, and at half-time 0-0 was a good result. In the first 15 minutes of the second half, we went after them, we were able to do them some damage, and as we were moving closer to the 0-1, the more comfortable we were feeling, we conceded the 1-0 from a penalty. It felt like the goal had put a hundred rocks on our back and it cost us the earth to turn the result around. These are dynamics, and I want this one to end now”.

Dynamic

“In these seven matches, we’ve done things wrong or mistakes have been made at critical moments of play that have cost us the three points. Today has been a reflection of the same. It was a reflection of a team where the better we’re doing, we foul on a counter-attack, concede a penalty, go 1-0 down, then 2-0 down a minute later. With this dynamic, it’s very tough for the team to turn it around”.

Fight

“There are 38 games, nine months of competition, and we’re only a month and a half in. Until match 38 my teammates and I will do everything we can to get the team to where it deserves. It’s a long road, where we’re going to suffer, but we need to silence the people who have left us for dead and show them we’re going to fight, never give up and ensure we keep the team in the First Division where it deserves”.

Necessity for points

“At the end of the day the points are there, but we’ve had six defeats and one draw. What I can say is that we need to present ourselves in these matches, stand up to rivals and start earning the three points from each game now. We need to keep fighting, give our all and start to win games, as I think we have the team for that”.
