Ramón: “I’m highly motivated to find my best version”
The Malaguista captain was the first player to speak to the media after #MálagaDépor. “The team continues with a winning mentality, and we want to keep responding to the fans,” he commented.
We wanted the victory
“We were coming off a good run at the end of the year, and we would have liked to start this year with a win. It was an evenly matched game with chances for both sides. Up front, they have dynamite, and we managed to counter that. We need to keep pushing, maintain this defensive level, and the victory will come.”
Good words for Chupe
“Chupe trains with us a lot, he's a good guy and a true Malaguista. He’s the role model for the homegrown players, showing them the importance of working hard in their team and seizing opportunities. I'm happy that he’s bringing his character to the team, and hopefully, he can help us with more goals.”
Happy and motivated
“I've been through a lot of problems for a long time, like a roller coaster. I'm happy and highly motivated to find my best version. I’ll keep working, my moment will come, and the coach is counting on me.”
Steps toward the best version
“It’s been difficult to feel comfortable with the ball, and we had a lot of back-and-forth. They were hurting us on the transitions. I came on to help control the game, I felt good, and I’m taking small steps. My best version will arrive soon.”
Competition is always good
“Having competition in all positions is good, it's tough to be a starter. The coach tells us that whoever starts should make the most of it, and the rest of us are hungry for opportunities. We don’t focus on whether we’re starters or not, having the coach keep us all engaged gives us competitiveness.”
