Luismi: “We had the ambition to get the win, but the point is positive”

The Blue and White midfielder spoke in the press room following #MálagaDépor. “They’re a tough opponent, and we need to keep going,” he stated.

Always positive to add points

“The point, given how the match unfolded, is positive. We had the ambition to get all three, but we knew they were a tough team. One point and we move on, there's no other option. Playing as a central defender isn't the first time I've played there, I just want to contribute wherever I’m needed.”

Contributing

“When I arrived here, I knew I was coming to a demanding club. I try to give my best every time I play and perform at my highest level.”

Good level from teammates

“Having knowledge of the league and being part of a newly promoted club, the expectations have been exceeded. I knew many of the Málaga players from when I faced them in Segunda, but I wasn’t familiar with many of those who have come up. I trusted the words of the coach, Loren, and Alfonso, whom I knew, and from the very first training session, I saw that the level was high.”

Always give my best

“I don’t feel like a guaranteed starter at all. As the coach says, performance is updated every week, and you have to give your best to play on the weekend. Ramón is a great player I’ve known for a long time, even though he's not a starter now, he’ll play many matches and help the team.”

Good performance from Chupe

“Chupe did preseason with us. He’s knocking on the door, and the numbers speak for themselves. I’m happy he’s with us and that he can help the team. He works hard, and we’re glad things are going well for him.”

Much-needed break

“It’s important to rest, but it comes with a cost. It's good to disconnect and spend time with family. It has been beneficial for us, trusting in the team and believing that we’ll reach the level we had before.”
