Pellicer: We’ll experience a spectacular, unique atmosphere

The Málaga CF coach held a pre-match press conference before league matchday 9, which will see the Blue and Whites face Real Madrid Castilla. “I hope we all enjoy it, but by achieving a victory and with the same values that we are conveying,” he commented.

Atmosphere at La Rosaleda

“We’re on matchday 9 and I’m sure we’ll experience a spectacular, unique atmosphere, which is why the club and the fans move me every time we play at La Rosaleda. We know the responsibility we have with that enthusiasm generated for the ninth match.”

A great rival

“We’re ready for a match against the youngest rival in the category, who has enormous talent and who last year was five minutes away from promotion. This year they haven’t started well in terms of points, in relation to their quality, but they’re a team with a lot of attacking potential, with players that we will soon see in the elite. Being a young team, they also have weaknesses. They are conceding goals and are not being very solid in defence, but in all the games they have managed to score.”

Three points is the goal

“It will be a very nice match for the spectator because of the profile of players that the rival has and because of the idea that we have. I hope we all enjoy it, but by achieving a victory and with the same values that we are conveying.”

This week’s absences

“Football is one of the sports with the highest risk of injury. It’s normal for these situations to happen. These are moments the squad goes through, and now other players are going to step up and have their opportunity.”

Team’s daily training

“In terms of talent, they are one of the best teams in the category despite their youth, but I want to value my lads’ work during the first eight matches. They should be very proud of the work they are doing. In every game the team has managed to score a goal, generated many goal situations, except for the Linares game, we’re keeping a clean sheet and are doing many things well. We have to focus on ourselves. We have to look at the rival goal and be a little more effective in those opportunities we’re generating so that what happened in the last game doesn’t happen.”

Enthusiasm and unity

“More and more people are coming to La Rosaleda for every match. That says a lot about the fans and what they are seeing, what we are transmitting. There will be some days when we don't win, but we have to convey to them what we’re doing.”
