Goalless draw at a packed out La Rosaleda (0-0)

All square for Málaga CF and Real Madrid Castilla in an even duel in front of more than 25,500 spectators.

Málaga CF welcomed Real Madrid Castilla this Saturday 21st October on Primera Federación matchday 9 at La Rosaleda. The 25,561 fans created a magical atmosphere.

Pellicer selected the following starting-11: A. Herrero; Jokin, Nelson, Einar, Dani Sánchez; Genaro, Manu Molina, Larrubia, Kevin; Dioni and Roberto.

The home side led the way in the first half and persistently sought to reach the rival area. They sent out a warning after 5 minutes when a spectacular assist from Larrubia from the right reached Genaro’s head who tried his luck with a powerful attempt, but the ball skimmed the crossbar by mere centimetres.

A few minutes later, Jokin accommodated a brilliant opening by Manu Molina and crossed a left-footer into the heart of the area, but no Blue and White player arrived with a shot to meet him.

Subsequently, Genaro took a cross shot from hardly any angle in the 29th minute, again on the right wing. Rival goalkeeper -Cañizares- managed a clearance that fell on Roberto's radar; the striker carried out a spectacular overhead kick that was again repelled by the goalkeeper.

Larrubia and Kevin tried again before the break. The number ‘10’ shot from the edge of the area after a great personal play, but his attempt went wide. The winger finished off a rehearsed corner taken by Manu Molina at the penalty spot. Unmarked, Kevin’s forceful shot grazed the post. At half-time the scoreboard remained 0-0.

In the second half, the Blue and Whites continued with the same match script and, spurred on by the incredible atmosphere generated by the fans, they took to the pitch with the mindset clearly on the attack.

The Madrid reserve team also had chances, but a toned Alfonso Herrero saved two consecutive close-range shots with impressive reflexes in the 62nd minute.

Both teams exchanged approaches; in the final minutes the locals went all out on the attack in search of a goal, but the visiting defence gave no option. The full-time whistle gave each team a point and a final 0-0 result on the scoreboard.
