Pellicer: “There’s seriousness and responsibility, it’s a pleasure to watch the team”

The Málaga CF coach spoke to the media this Friday in the 'Juan Cortés' press room at La Rosaleda. “Playing in front of our fans we always need to give that bit extra,” he said in the run-up to Málaga CF-CF Intercity.

The rival - CF Intercity

“We live in the present. We faced this team just 10 matches ago. Despite their internal problems, they have a high-level squad. They are the second team that recovers the ball the most on average, and sixth with the most goals on average away from home. In the first leg they were more intense, more aggressive. We did things well with the ball, but we were not good defensively.”

Sunday at 12:00

“It's a kick-off time that's working for us. Playing in front of our fans we always need to give that bit extra. There is always motivation and wearing the shirt requires it, but being in front of your people takes you to another level.”

Improving

“We must give continuity to the games, the previous one was tough and that’s why we have to continue improving. Now we are about to enter into that line of the final 10 games and the next one is a key match that can make the difference.”

Importance of consistency

“When I talk about key, I mean at the level of what awaits us. We are the ones who have to win, that's how it is. Everyone has their moments and states of form, and I think we’re maintaining consistency with the exception of the Christmas period.”

A variety of resources

“Everyone is available except Juan. It's a pleasure to see them train, there’s a good atmosphere, there is seriousness and responsibility. They have to compete among themselves, they have to raise their competitive level, because I am going to be very unfair.”

Tight competition

“Winning on Sunday is the key. The first four teams have that objective and depending on the result there will be a before and after. If the team behind wins, the competition gets tighter.”
