Great match

“I think this was our best match of the season in terms of the situation we’re in and the rival we were up against. We managed the match well. When we were 11 against 11, we knew we had to tighten up upfront and move away from our area, which we did to perfection. We’re delighted for the players and, above all, the fans. Will this be a turning point? Let’s hope so. Before the break in the competition, the team was very fluid and vertical, which we’ve now recovered. Now it’s about focusing on giving it continuity”.

Giving everything until the end

“These matches are worth three points, the matches against direct rivals are worth six, you have to know how to differentiate. These are three points, but on an emotional level they’re worth much more. We’ll look at the positive, we’ve scored points now in four matches. We lose various players for the clash with Rayo, but this is going to be an ongoing cycle. Today the fans will have seen the team had soul and gave their all until the last minute. The mental plane in this stage of the competition is crucial. The table is getting tighter and winning is important, but there’s no time for celebrations, there’s a long way to go yet”.

The players give their all

“We are aware of how demanding the Málaga fans are and it’s normal for them to be worried. We know the level of pressure there is, which is something they must understand. We played a superb match in Lugo, but we lacked that final finish on the last pass. Today we faced one of the best teams in the division, so this victory is worth a great deal. The fans are always with us. It’s hard-going and they suffer, but so do the players. They’re giving their all and more every day to score points and reach the objective”.
