The coach spoke to the media following the XXXIV Costa del Sol Cup, where Málaga CF beat Antequera CF (2-1) with goals from Kevin Medina and Loren Zúñiga.
Pellicer started out by praising the fans. There were more than 10,000 Malaguistas at La Rosaleda showing a renewed enthusiasm for the impending season. The coach pointed out that “today they have shown it again.”
Regarding the performance of his team, he said that “we’ve got a long way to go,” although “on a physical level we are improving. Now we’re going to have 20 days and many games during the week. We have to convey humility, honesty in our work and hunger,” he added.
“We have an idea of how we want to play and how we want to pressure the rival, handling different aspects. I like what I see in certain situations during daily training. Above all, the pace,” he explained about his game idea.
Lastly, Pellicer talked about the enthusiasm for the new season. “We have to change situations and look for something different. We’re seeking renewed enthusiasm,” he concluded.
