The Malaguista winger, who scored his first Blue and White goal, spoke to the media following the friendly against UD Almería.
Paulino said the Malaguistas’ performance was positive. “Despite being in the pre-season, they were a very tough rival. I think we played a great match, made a strong effort and had great sensations two weeks before the first LaLiga SmartBank match,” he said. He was also thrilled to have scored his first goal with the team. “I was lucky to score a goal following this morning’s defeat, I’m very pleased. Hopefully I’ll score some more.”
In regard to the identity the team is forming after these weeks of summer training, Paulino discussed the idea that José Alberto conveys to them. “The coach wants us to be a very aggressive team, with great intensity and a lot of pace. The loss of the ball is the least of it, the important thing is what follows, the pressure after loss. In two or three matches we’re already getting sensations,” he said.
Finally, the new Malaguista player thanked the group for their warm welcome and mentioned the veterans as keys to the #MalaguistaFamily. “The team makes it so easy for the new arrivals. It’s a spectacular group, adapting is easy. It’s great because players such as Lombán, Escassi and Jairo, who have more experience, ensure we all have a great time,” he added.
