Mathieu Peybernes (21/10/1990, Toulouse, France) is an experienced centre-back who comes to Málaga CF as a free agent after rescinding his contract with UD Almería.
At 30 years old, the defender has had a lengthy career in Ligue 1, playing 167 matches in the French first division with FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, SC Bastia and FC Lorient. As well as his time in China and Belgium, which have provided him with a great ability to adapt to numerous environments, the new Malaguista signing also has experience in LaLiga SmartBank.
After a spell with Real Sporting de Gijón and CD Lugo, where he played 29 and 30 matches respectively, he signed to UD Almería. During the last winter transfer window, he was loaned out to Real Zaragoza, where he played during the second round of the 20/21 season.
After leaving UD Almería definitively, he has signed to the Malaguista entity for the next two seasons. Welcome to your new home, Mathieu!
