The Malaguista coach held a press conference after the friendly against Cádiz CF at Marbella Football Center. “What we value most is the physical load we are putting in and playing for 90 minutes, even if we’re only played two matches. Within that, the team is finding the way we want to play, which is very important,” said Pablo.

In regard to tactics, the influence of the homegrown players and the physical aspect, he commented: “Today we finished with the line of three, next week we’ll start with the line of four. We are analysing the young players a great deal and I think they are going to bring a lot to the team. The most important thing right now is that those who are behind physically catch up with those who have been training from the outset. That's what we’ll focus on next week.”

Pablo wanted to highlight how well the team is doing in terms of possession. “At the rate that the lads have been training, they’re very good with the ball. I’m happy with how well we are working when we have possession,” he affirmed.

Regarding the absence of goals in the two matches held in Marbella, Pablo Guede stated: “In the two games we played, four balls were taken from us under the goal, and I think two were goals. I’m not worried about the goal, players are arriving and we’re playing how we want, in a good way. The goal is going to come,” he added.

The coach is varying the line-ups in these summer matches. Pablo affirmed that he’s doing different tests: “We signed a lot of versatile players. It's time to try them. I am constantly testing them. The line of three defenders in the morning had nothing to do with the line in the afternoon.”

Lastly, Pablo concluded the press conference by clarifying the role of the youth players who are immersed in the pre-season dynamic. “The boys have to be part of this, a real part. Not everyone is going to stay, when we finish the Estepona stage, I will decide who will stay as part of the first team,” he stated.
