After the match against Cádiz, a “very tired” Fran Sol had a few words for the media at Marbella Football Center. “We’re working really hard. Especially mentally. These are fairly new concepts. We played 45 minutes this morning, now another 45, and you can tell in the legs,” said the striker.
Fran is confident of the team's attacking ability. “We work to score a goal, but the coach is telling us not to worry, that’s not what’s important now. We’re working on the concepts of how to get the ball out, how to defend well...,” he commented. “Today we had bad luck, but it’s not an excuse,” he added.
When questioned about the recent results, the Malaguista number ‘9’ said it was an “anecdotal” issue in the pre-season. “We have to watch the videos and focus on the individual and collective mistakes in order to correct them,” he commented.
Regarding the characteristics he likes most about the team, Fran is clear: “I like the combinations we have on the attack. We’re arriving at the goal a lot, there’s a great deal of fluidity. We're breaking well into spaces. We see the gaps well. Things are going smoothly,” he added.
Finally, Fran stated the coach said “many good movements are happening” although “they need to culminate in a goal. Today we generated many opportunities. The luck we’re missing now we’ll have in LaLiga,” he said.
