Ochoa: “We’re not giving up”

The goalkeeper saved a great one on one against Success in the 0-0 draw with Granada: “The important thing is the team’s attitude, commitment and we’re still fighting and looking forward.”

Even match

“It was a fairly difficult, even game, where we had goal chances from the start.  Unfortunately, we weren’t able to convert them, but the important factor is the team maintains this order and tension in defence.  I think this was key against a rival whose speed we were aware of, as well as their potential upfront.  The team showed good personality.  We would have liked to have claimed the three points but a point from an away draw is no bad thing.”

One on one with Success

“I tried to tolerate until the end and distract him somewhat, which seemed to work well.  I forced him to go out and luckily I was quick to touch a corner.  We knew the potential of Success and needed to stay alert and play upfront at all times.”

Not giving up

“Matches now are defined by small details, successes and failures.  We lacked this touch in the first half, and later in the second Chory had a chance, but the important thing is the team’s attitude, commitment and the fact that we’re not giving up, still fighting and looking forward.”

European positions

“We’ll see what happens, we need to focus on a week at a time.  The best thing now is we can look up, not down.  The key is permanency, the other is the result of a good performance by the team.  So we must continue on with this regularity and hope the teams above us leave some points.”

Commitment

“I think the team always showed commitment and today is a clear example.  The team gives their all in every match and we need to take each game at a time.  We’ve got a good game coming up next week for the whole family to enjoy, against a close rival.”
