The goalkeeper praises the work of the team in the 1-0 defeat by Atlético: “We knew it’d be difficult, but we competed well, we were strong, but it’s a shame they got that goal.”

“We were aware of how tough it would be, because of what Atlético were playing for. We always try to counteract these situations, the attacking potential they have and their strength in set pieces…Málaga did well, we competed ably, and were demanding and strong. It’s a shame they scored that winning goal, however I think Málaga could have taken something more.”
Expulsion of Simeone
“They try to take advantage however they can. They try to stop the game when possible, to launch quick balls to prevent the attack and play all their cards. This type of rogue behaviour exists in football, and the referee is the one who must judge these situations. This sort of thing shouldn’t have to be done.”
Happy to help the team
“I’m pleased to be able to play and be on the pitch, where I’m at my happiest. With confidence, I’m enjoying every game. It was a long wait, but I’m delighted I’m playing and helping my teammates.”
