Nati Gutiérrez, the first woman at the helm of Femenino in the Club’s history

The former Blue and Whites’ player takes the reins of the women’s first team. The first Malagueña to obtain the UEFA-PRO national coaching title and the team’s second coach last season.

Málaga CF Femenino is starting to prepare its new project for the 2020/21 season and in doing so writes another chapter in the Málaga CF history books. The Club has opted for Natalia Gutiérrez Garrido ‘Nati’ (Málaga, 22/03/1982), former second coach of the women’s first team, to take charge of the team in the upcoming season.

As such, she becomes the first women in Blue and White history to serve as first coach for the Málaga CF women’s first team.

Nati knows the house well and has coordinated the Málaga CF Women’s School. Gutiérrez was second coach during the 2019/20 season, establishing greater focus on the homegrown players and the importance of The Academy players.

Director of Málaga CF’s sports department, Manolo Gaspar accompanied the new coach to her contract signing today at La Rosaleda’s offices. Málaga CF administrator, José María Muñoz has opted for Nati for this new project full of enthusiasm and excitement. Gutiérrez will head up the team in the silver division. Her training was focused around Málaga CF, making her a promoter of Blue and White values. Always concentrating on helping the Club, she has nurtured the growth of the women’s section since her arrival.

She defines her method of work as “highly demanding in training to reach optimal conditions for the match. I don’t negotiate the attitude of the player”.

Professional career

Gutiérrez is the first Malagueña to obtain the national UEFA-PRO title, the highest coaching accreditation, enabling her to coach at all levels.

As well as being the Málaga CF Femenino second coach last season, she also headed up the ‘cadete’ team in 18/19. Her work led players on the squad to be called-up to the youth ranks of the Spanish national team.

In the 2017-18 season she also took charge of the ‘cadete’ team and took part in numerous congresses such as the I National Congress of Coaches and Physical Trainers and the World Congress of Football Coaches held in Sevilla.

The women’s team is in the hands of a true example of Malaguista commitment, whose effort gets results. Good luck, Nati!
