“There’ll only be time to focus on the next game”

Renato Santos spoke to the Club media after this Wednesday’s training session: “Physically we’ll notice it, but so will the rest of the teams”.

48 hours until the long-awaited return

“At last the matches are back and we’re all incredibly excited, we can’t wait to get started. Prepared, focused and with maximum concentration”.

Many matches in a short time; also a positive lesson

“All the teams are going to go through the same thing. I think the good thing is you play a match, and whether it goes well or badly, you have to focus on the next one. Time is tight and there will certainly be no time for regrets. You have to prepare for the next match in three or four days’ time. Obviously, we’ll notice it physically, but so will the players on the other teams”.

Good personal physical moment

“I feel great and I’m preparing to be at my best level and give my all for the team and for us all. My teammates are doing the same, we’re all working hard to be in the best shape possible for the matches”.

Importance of the entire group

“It’s like starting a new league. We all need to be pumped up and focused for whatever comes our way. If the coach needs us, the opportunity will arise for many who haven’t played as much or who haven’t played at all”.

We have to win for the fans

“We’ll need to get used to it. The first match is going to be strange, perhaps so will the second one, but then it’ll start to become more normal, the new normal. We cannot use the excuse of the fans not being there. We need to stay focused and do the best we can for the fans, who will be supporting us from their homes or from a terrace watching the game. We need to do all we can to win as many games as possible for them”.
