Pellicer: “Every match is a final to us”

The Málaga CF coach spoke to MCFTV in the run-up to the match against SD Huesca at La Rosaleda. “Our idea is to have balance and not give up on anything. In the end, the key will be us”, he affirmed.

Compete and enjoy

“We can now compete, which is a very good sign considering everything we’ve gone through beforehand. However, that doesn’t mean we can forget what’s happened. We arrive at this first match with a great deal of encouragement and enthusiasm. From day one when we started with individual training up to now has been a long road with many obstacles that we’ve overcome. We’re facing the competition with great responsibility, knowing this is the moment of truth and understanding that we have to compete and enjoy ourselves. By competing and enjoying, the results will come”.

Reserve team player registrations

“As of today, with 24 hours to go before the game, we don’t know whether we’ll be able to use a certain number of players. The reserve team lads are there to help us, they’ve been helping all throughout the season and we’re very pleased with them. It’s time to all go hand in hand now, from the coaching team to the players to the Club employees. Although we won’t feel the same atmosphere at the stadium without the fans, we know that we’ll have their passion and soul supporting us from their homes. We owe a lot of people, this great Club, and we’re going to compete and do the best we can, knowing the difficulties we have, which cannot serve as an excuse.”

Realistic

“There will be tough times and we’ll have to be patient.  There will also be more positive times in which we will need to have balance. The group that is the most balanced during this express league will achieve the results. Our objective is to follow this idea; to have balance and not give up on anything.  Every match is a final to us”.

The rival: SD Huesca

“They are one of the toughest rivals in the division, playing the best football. Their squad says it all. They’ve come from the First Division and are having a good season. They’ve got a great coach and great players, but so do we. In the end, the key will be us, with utmost respect to our rivals. We have to be ourselves”.
