Grateful to Club Necaxa
“Presenting Manuel is simple, as everyone knows him in Málaga following the historic season we had. I thank Club Necaxa for the facilities they gave a player who counted on him, but Colocho’s desire was stronger and he was keen to come here”.
Predisposition of Iturra
“There was only one way to do this operation, which was that Iturra had all the predisposition and desire to come here, as if not it would’ve been an unfeasible situation. This allows us to have a footballer of his experience and career for the final stretch of the season. As such, in mid-December we have signed two players who have covered the positions that we had more or less talked about, which were the priority. This is important, that they get together with the group, work together and get to know each other”.
Easy adaptation

“Before I say anything, I would like to address Club Necaxa. As Mario said, from the first moment I was given this opportunity, I didn’t think twice, I felt like I’d left an open cycle. Since they proposed the alternative of coming back, I didn’t have any doubts. We started talking with the president, and the truth is he was amazing. Not just him, but the fans, equipment managers and everyone who works there. Nobody put any obstacles in the way of me coming here, quite the opposite. I’m very grateful to them for giving me the chance to be in Málaga once again, the place I always wanted to be”.

“Aside from the experience, I think the people know how I play, how I live football; with great intensity, I’m very competitive. Beyond saying that I can contribute, I hope this will be seen on the field of play, which is where it counts and where people really value what you can bring. Above saying it here, I hope when I have the opportunity to play, I not only play well, but also reconcile with the fans, which is a personal goal of mine. I also want to do my bit to help the team get out of this situation”.
The break arrives at a good time for the team
“I think the Christmas break arrives at just the right time. It’s important to disconnect, spend time with family and start the new year with our batteries fully charged. The atmosphere I’m hoping for is an atmosphere of unity. Supporting the team in a situation like this is tough, but it’s fundamental that we all stick together. It’s been proven that the fans are very important here, and I hope they keep trusting in the team. There are people here who are working to move the team forward. Not just the players and coaching team, but also everyone involved with the squad”.
Solitary training
“I’ve not been in official competition for months, but I’ve been training for some time. I have come here and since day one, have been at the service of the coaching team. I’m training on a personal level, I’m not going on holiday. I’m staying here to make sure I’m fit and ready to be available to the coach as soon as possible, for whenever he needs me. I hope he will be able to rely on me asap, and I will try my best to live up to his expectations”.
