MCF’s Infantil Preferente in Germany

Various La Academia del Málaga CF teams are soon to be taking part in prestigious international competitions. This week, the Blue and Whites ‘Infantil Preferente’ took part in a high level tournament in Germany.

Rodrigo Hernando’s team took part in the tournament in Barsinghausen, located 20 kilometres from Hannover, in a four star hotel and sports complex, complete with two football pitches, exercise area, fitness centre, swimming pool and games room.  Málaga travelled to Hannover on Thursday, via Zurich, arriving at the hotel at 11 p.m.

Friday 18
Rapid de Vienna 2 - MÁLAGA 1
SC Weyhe 0 - MÁLAGA 0
Malmo 0 - MÁLAGA 1
RC Strasbourg 1- MÁLAGA 2
Wolfsburg 1 - MÁLAGA 1

Commentary:  Two victories, two draws and one defeat.  Good game-play with possibilities to win the tournament.

Saturday 19
Apensen Harsefeld 0 - MÁLAGA 0
Fortuna Dusseldorf 1 - MÁLAGA 1
Hannover 96 1 - MÁLAGA 0
Werder Bremen 2 - MÁLAGA 0
Hamburg 2 - MÁLAGA 0

Commentary:  Two draws and three defeats, against the big German rivals.  MCF dominated the first match, but failed to score.  Fortuna scored an equaliser in the second match, stripping Málaga of their chance to be champions.  MCF were the only team to have played 10 games in two days, not three, as all teams were playing in the tournament on Thursday.  However, the Blue and Whites finished in eighth place, although they deserved a better final position in this competition.

Sunday 20
The Blue and Whites left Hannover, again via Zurich, arriving at Málaga airport at 5 p.m.
