The RFEF has granted official status to the new Group Sur D for teams fighting to stay in Reto Iberdrola, made up of Málaga CF Femenino and another eight teams.
From the merging of Groups A and B of the RFEF Women’s Football Second Division, we have nine teams that are striving to remain in the category now within the new Group Sur D for the second stage of the season.
As well as Málaga CF, also in the group are Córdoba CF, CD Juan Grande Ginelux, FF La Solana, Levante UD ‘B’, UD Aldaia CF, CF Joventut Almassora, Valencia CF Féminas CF ‘B’ and CD Femarguín SPAR Gran Canaria.
It should be remembered that MCFF will play 10 matches against their new rivals from Group Sur B. In order to remain in the silver division, they will need to occupy a place from first to fifth in the standings as the bottom four will go down to First National.
Málaga will play the first match of this new tournament this coming weekend in Cártama against the Valencia CF reserve team. For the 10th and final game of the season, the girls are away to Canary Islands rivalFemarguín in the last weekend of May.
Nati Gutiérrez’s girls have 16 points from the first phase of the competition, tied in third place of the new group with Aldaia, just behind Levante ‘B’ (19) and Córdoba (17). Joventut Almassora are in the last safe place with 15 points, one more than Juan Grande (14), two more than La Solana and Valencia ‘B’ (13) with Femarguín in last place (12 points).
