José Luis Pérez Caminero is now head of sports management at the Club. Over the past few days, his incorporation into the Club’s organisational structure has encompassed the sport sections of the main local and national media.
The great expectation was palpable from the outset when Caminero arrived on the Costa del Sol. A large number of journalists waited at the AVE station for his arrival, and within the hour he was presented in a packed press conference.
The new sports director has a first-class right-hand man; Malaguista Juan Rodríguez who will form part of his team. Juan acted as a guide for José Luis at La Rosaleda where he met some of the workforce and the three Club advisers. Antonio Benítez, Abdullah Ben Barek and Francisco Martín Aguilar presented him with a personalised jersey bearing his characteristic number ‘21’.
Before the day came to an end, the new sports director visited the stadium’s ticket offices to collect his own personal season ticket, together with Juan Rodríguez. Now he’s another Malaguista. Caminero has started his journey.
