Like every year, all the MCF Academy teams got together to celebrate Christmas. A total of over 400 guests headed to ‘El Túnel’ restaurant to enjoy the establishment’s signature rice dish, ‘arroz caldoso’.
Sitting at the presidential table were Club adviser, Antonio Benítez; sports director, Mario Husillos; MCF’s head of legal, Joaquín Jofre; MCF Academy director Antonio Tapia; member of the Academy’s coaching organisation, Sergio Paulo Barbosa Valente, ‘Duda’; MCF Academy manager, José Luis Ruiz Téllez; and the 11-a-side football coordinator, Carlos Jiménez.
Following lunch, Tapia, during his first Christmas gathering as head of the Malaguista youth ranks, addressed all those present to convey a message of brotherhood and thanks for the treatment received. He also had a few words for the former director, Manel Casanova, who sadly passed away. Augusto, a 3rd And Prebenjamín player then read out a message on behalf of all his teammates: “Many thanks to our coaches, coaching team and the entire Malaguista family for living this dream with us. Happy Blue and White Christmas and prosperous New Year! Viva el Málaga!”, said the player in a very fluid speech.
