It was the perfect weekend for Atlético Malagueño and women’s side, Atlético Málaga as both teams won their games. The rest of the academy’s teams generally performed well.
Atlético Malagueñoachieved a major 4-0 victory at the Federation ground against Comarca del Mármol. Despite the scoreboard being 0-0 at half-time, in the second half Manel Ruano’s boys showed why they’re the group leaders. Kuki Zalazar, Ayrton and Jaime Moreno (2) were the goal-scorers in this win, putting the Blue and Whites five points ahead of nearest rivals, Mancha Real and Loja.
Club Atlético Málaga achieved a hard-fought away victory in the 13th Women’s Second Division (Group 4) match of the season. The first win of 2016 for Manolo Hernández’s girls, who sealed their victory against Badajoz Olivenza in the second half with goals from Yamila and Laura. The Blue and Whites remain in fourth place in the group with 30 points, very close to the top three: Betis (1st, 34 points), Granada (2nd, 33 points) and Sevilla (3rd, 32 points).
