Chory: “My teammates made me feel good”

The latest ‘Malaguista’ signing speaks of his feelings following his debut with the Blue and Whites in the 1-1 draw in Las Palmas.

Chory Castro

Feelings

“I blame the lack of games, we couldn’t leave the team with 10 men so we made the quick change, but I’m good.  It’s important now to keep working as I think tonight’s point is a positive one, it’s the 7th match without defeat and we’ve got a very difficult match coming up next weekend, so we must continue working hard.”

Adapting to the team

“I’m grateful to my teammates who made me feel good throughout, it’s important they help you to find your place on the pitch.  We had freedom on the attack whilst we had to be organised in defence.  I thank all my teammates for their help.”

Coach

“Every coach has their way of working and a player must adapt to that.  I’m pleased with my work today.  I tried to reach the same level as the group, and now it’s about working hard for the start of the second round as there are many matches left to win.”

Santa Cruz

Satisfaction

“I’m happy with the goal, above all because I missed a clear opportunity which left me a little angry, but I’m pleased I scored as it means we earned a point.  The team makes a great deal of sacrifice in this type of game and a draw is the merit of the entire group.”

Connection

“The goal was the result of a good connection with Cop: He was fantastic when I lost the ball, he regained possession in the middle leaving me one on one with the keeper.  The group shows signs of great confidence and conviction and this security is reflected in the results we’ve been getting.”
