Manu Molina: It’s a project that excites me

The midfielder was presented this Tuesday before the media at the Olin store in El Perchel: “I’ve arrived full of hunger, and am looking forward to an important challenge,” he explained.

Manu Molina is Málaga CF's 11th signing in the summer transfer window. His incorporation was sealed a few minutes before the market closed and he was presented this Tuesday at the Olin store located on C / Cajones del Perchel 4, local 2.

The midfielder explains how his contract came about: “When the option of Málaga appeared before the market closed, I didn't even think about it. It was very fast. I consulted with my family and in five minutes we had made a decision. We all know what club it is, I know the stadium, I know the fans, we all know what Málaga represents worldwide. What I talked about with Loren also influenced me, a project with young and experienced players. A project that excites me,” he said with enthusiasm.

Molina has already travelled many miles in LaLiga Hypermotion and in the former 2ªB: “I have experience. I’m here to help the team in whatever way I can, and also the younger players. The position needs that pause, it’s about knowing the category. I’ve spoken with the coach for a couple of days. He has given me peace of mind, he told me to show my football and help the team as much as I can. Together we are going to have a great year,” the player added.

His adaptation to the group has been very quick. It helps that he already knew his coach, Sergio Pellicer: “I am a player with experience in the category. I like having the ball, offering myself and helping my teammates. Yesterday I trained for the first day and it went very well. Pellicer's style of football suits me well. I knew the coach and I am happy in that regard,” he said.

Molina has arrived with a great deal of desire, enthusiasm and a very clear path forward: “The younger players are hungry, so are we. I’ve come here because I'm hungry, otherwise I wouldn't have come. I'm looking forward to an important challenge. I may be one of the oldest, I will give that break to the younger ones, so that they have that peace of mind. We have to keep a cool head, take each match at a time and, most importantly, go day by day. It’s important that we’re happy with what we’re doing,” he said.

Lastly, he praised the Malaguista fans: “The other day the fans were spectacular, every time I came to play here, I loved it. It’s a very important value that we have. The fans are behind the team, with the players and I think it will go well. The more people come the better, playing with between 15,000 to 25,000 people every two weeks is a delight for a player,” he concluded.
