The Malaguista reserve team gets this season underway at home, welcoming CD Ciudad de Torredonjimeno (Group IX Third Division).
Atlético Malagueño returns to competition. They are hosting CD Ciudad de Torredonjimeno in the 1st match of Third Division Group IX, taking place at the Málaga Football Federation ground on Sunday at 12:00. Manel Ruano’s boys are excited about the upcoming season, as affirmed by the coach on MCFTV: “We can’t wait to start playing matches where we’re striving for something more, we’re full of enthusiasm and looking forward to seeing how far we can go.”
Various players on the team were part of Juvenil División de Honor last season, who were proclaimed Champions of Spain. “It’s a very similar team to last year, in the sense that we’re restructuring again. It’s a very young squad. Our job is to promote the virtues that our players have, which are a lot, and try to ensure that this youth can’t be noticed at certain grounds, so we can compete well and impose our style of play,” comments Ruano about the new team.
Malagueño’s main objective is to develop players so they can be available for any of the first team’s requirements, as stated by Arturo, one of the players from Juvenil División de Honor last season: “Our challenge is to be prepared in case we receive a call from the first team to train, play or whatever.”
“The grounds (in Third Division) are very difficult, particularly away, the players are very experienced as you never know what you’re going to be faced with,” says current Atlético Malagueño captain, Mula to the Club media.
The Malaguista reserve team kicks off the new season on Sunday full of excitement and extremely keen to complete.
